The main "centers" of Chinese civilization in modern Sinology are considered to be the Yellow River, Liao River, and Yangtze River. This is in contrast to the old theory that Chinese civilization began solely at the Yellow River and radiated outwards although the Yellow River region would remain by far the most important area in Chinese history. Minutes of the Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers. E-ISSN Volume Issue 15 hours ago  China is one of the countries with the most rivers in the world.

There are many great rivers with a long history in China, of which there are more than rivers with a basin area over km 2 and ab rivers with a basin area over km 2 [].From time immemorial, people have realized that rivers make great contributions to human existence and development [].

The Yellow River or Huang He (listen (help info)) is the second longest river in Asia, after the Yangtze River, and the sixth longest river system in the world at the estimated length of 5, km (3, mi).

[1] Originating in the Bayan Har Mountains in Qinghai province of Western China, it flows through nine provinces, and it empties into the Bohai Sea near the city of Dongying in Shandong. Eighty-three percent of this total area is in the south, including the Yangtze and Zhujiang River basins and the basins in the southeast and southwest.

The rest of the water (17%) is in the north, covering six zones that connect to the Songhua River, Liao River, Haihe River, Yellow River, Huaihe River, and rivers in the northwest.

The prediction of annual runoff in the Lower Yellow River can provide an important theoretical basis for effective reservoir management, flood control and disaster reduction, rive. The amendment to the Water Law of the People's Republic of China (National People's Congress, ) specifically requires that the ecological environment be protected and improved when developing and using waterthe State Council approved a National Key Scientific Programme—Water Pollution Control and Treatment Programme (Zhou et al., ).

A simplified geological map is shown in Fig. Liao River Basin lies on the boundary of the North China Craton and the Xing’an-Mongolia Orogenic Belt (Yang et al., ).The central and northern parts of the Liao River basin are mainly distributed with Quaternary deposits (e.g., grit, silt, clay, breccia and gypsum-salt), beneath which the basement is composed of Paleozoic strata.

Abstract. This paper makes a systematic overview of the development process of evaluation on China river health growing out of nothing and summarizes the explanations of the river health concept made by famous experts and scholars in China to obtain the essence of river health evaluation.

The Yellow River valley, located in the southwest region of the West Liao River valley, was one original centre of agriculture in China. O3-M is the most abundant haplogroup in both ancient (80%, n=5) and extant population (53%, n=) of the region [ 8, 13 ], but the frequency of O3-M only began to rise in the West Liao River valley in.

The Hai River (HR) Basin, located in the North Plain China, has more than tributaries with a semiarid subhumid continental monsoon climate. The Yellow River, located in a midlatitude region, is the second longest river in China with a semiarid and arid climate. Liao River (°33′°36′E, 40°26′°27′N) is the principal river located in the northern Liaodong Bay of the Bohai sea and is one of the seven major river systems in mainland China ().The river is also popularly known as the “mother river” in Northeast China.

The situation is even bleaker further north, such as on the Liao river delta, in north-east China's Liaoning province, where farmers regularly harvest the dried-up reed beds.
